Dalton Schultz Could Get Franchise Tagged
3 years agoDallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz might not be going anywhere this offseason. The fourth-year tight end could have plenty of interest if he hit the open market. However, the Cowboys are unlikely to let that happen. There are rumors that the Cowboys are going to franchise tag the former fourth round pick. Schultz is coming off a season where he posted 78 receptions, 808 yards, and nine touchdowns in 2021. Only two other tight ends had more catches than Schultz this season. There is a chance he could get paid similar to Hunter Henry last offseason. A deal in the range of three years and $37-40 million. Blake Jarwin is still under contract through 2023 with the Cowboys. His fantasy value would be on the rise if Schultz does end up in free agency. However, fantasy managers are just going to have to wait and see.
