Washington Preparing To Make A Run At A QB
3 years agoThe Washington Football Team is preparing to take a big swing at a quarterback this offseason, according to team sources. Washington has just quarterback Taylor Heinicke under contract for 2022 and more than $40 million of salary cap space to work with and the 11th overall pick in the draft to potentially dangle in a trade. Last year, Washington was in on Matthew Stafford before the Rams swooped in, and they eventually settled on a one-year deal for veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. Washington had the league's sixth-ranked offensive line in 2021, and quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson could potentially be available via trade. With a 1,000-yard receiver in Terry McLaurin and a 1,000-yard rusher in running back Antonio Gibson, Washington's offense could be attractive for a veteran QB this offseason.
