3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers plan remains to turn to first-round quarterback Trey Lance in 2022. The 49ers have a ton of respect for what Jimmy Garoppolo was able to do in taking the team far in the postseason this year, but they are expected to trade him this offseason. Lance's rookie year was a roller coaster -- he was a revelation to the coaching staff the first 10 days of training camp in the summer, was extremely shaky in his first career start in Week 5 and then showed improvement when the regular season came to an end. The 21-year-old went 41-for-71 for 603 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions and carried the ball 38 times for 168 yards and another TD in six games (two starts). Lance is far from a finished product, but he'll have QB1 streaming appeal in the right matchups because of his dual-threat capabilities if he's the full-time starter in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
