3 years agoThe Houston Texans head coaching search appears to be over. They appeared to be down to three finalists Josh McCown, Jonathan Gannon, and Brian Flores. However, it doesn't sound like any of them are getting the head coaching job. Instead, defensive coordinator Lovie Smith is expected to be the Texans new head coach. The deal isn't done yet and this news came out of seemingly nowhere. Although, Smith does have plenty of experience in the NFL and even took the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl. Smith left the NFL in 2016 and took the head coaching job at Illinois, but finished with a 17-39 record. He returned as the defensive coordinator for Houston last season. Now, Smith will get another chance to make an impact as a head coach in the NFL.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
