3 years agoHouston Texans quarterbacks coach/passing-game coordinator Pep Hamilton is being promoted to offensive coordinator after the team hired Lovie Smith as their new head coach on Monday. There's also the possibility that former quarterback Josh McCown, who was a finalist for the head-coaching position, could join Smith's coaching staff, according to sources. Hamilton will be replacing Tim Kelly, who struggled to get much production out of Houston's offense during the 2021 season. It didn't help that the Texans were without quarterback Deshaun Watson all season long. Keeping Hamilton in the organization should be good news for Houston's offense, but they'll need to upgrade their weapons, especially if Watson is traded.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
