Trevor Bauer Won't Face Criminal Charges
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer won't face any criminal charges following a sexual-assault allegation in the Los Angeles court system, according to sources. However, Bauer's active investigation by Major League Baseball remains open, and he has not been cleared to rejoin the Dodgers. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred retains the right to suspend Bauer for the 2022 season and is widely expected to do so. Bauer last pitched for the Dodgers on June 28 and was put on paid leave by MLB through the rest of the season. If Bauer is suspended for the start of the 2022 season, he could reach a settlement with the league or appeal the suspension. The right-hander won the National League Cy Young in 2020 with the Cincinnati Reds, but he remains a risky fantasy selection this year with a suspension potentially looming.
