3 years agoThe Athletic's Greg Auman thinks the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a good chance of keeping impending free-agent wide receiver Chris Godwin this offseason. Godwin has co-existed well with No. 1 receiver Mike Evans, and both sides have voiced a desire to keep things going, even at a considerable cost. Auman doesn't think Godwin's ACL injury will change the team's long-term optimism of him continuing to play at a high level moving forward. The Athletic suggested a five-year, $90 million deal back in December, with $54 million guaranteed and a $15 million signing bonus to bring his salary cap number in 2022 to $6 million. If Godwin were to leave in free agency, there would be a considerable drop-off behind Evans, and the team's No. 2 might not be on their current roster.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
