He is also extremely gifted behind the plate as a defensive backstop, and he's projected to be a top-10 prospect heading into the 2023 season after he finished 2021 ranked No. 10 on MLB Pipeline's top-100 prospect list. The Venezuelan native has been hitting ever since he became a pro at age 17, and his exceptional strength and explosiveness helps him do considerable damage with the bat.
