3 years agoCementing his case as the next middleweight title challenger, Jared Cannonier not only defeated the streaking Derek Brunson, but knocked him out in the second round of action at UFC 271 on Saturday. Statistically, Cannonier landed 55 significant strikes in 9:49 of total action. More importantly, he was able to stuff 10 of Brunson's 13 takedown tries, keeping the bout off the mat. With the champion Israel Adesanya defending his title on the same card, it would not be a surprise to see these two matched up before the year is over.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
