Derek Carr Could See More Play-Action Dropbacks
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr could see more play-action dropbacks under new head coach Josh McDaniels in 2022. Carr was one of the most efficient QBs on play-action dropbacks last year, ranking fifth in yards per attempt with five touchdowns and only one interception. But the Raiders were 19th in play-action dropbacks. McDaniels has a large inventory of play-action concepts that attack different areas of the field. With more play-action concepts, it could help create easier opportunities for Carr to complete passes down the field. The 30-year-old had a career-high 4,804 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in the regular season, and he could become even more productive from a fantasy standpoint with McDaniels running the offense.
