Julio Jones To Be A Salary Cap Casualty?
3 years agoThe Tennessee Titans are around $7 million over the salary cap at the start of the offseason, and wide receiver Julio Jones -- $4.8 million in cap savings if he's cut after June 1 -- could be a cap casualty. Other potential cuts include left tackle Taylor Lewan ($12.9 million in savings), linebacker Zach Cunningham ($10.5 million), left guard Rodger Saffold ($10.5 million), cornerback Janoris Jenkins ($6.9 million) and tackle Kendall Lamm ($3.2 million). Jones, 33, has played in 19 combined games the last two seasons due to various lower-body injuries, and he had only 31 catches for 434 yards and one touchdown on 48 targets in his first season with the Titans in 2021. Tennessee doesn't exactly have a ton of receiver depth, though, so they could stick with Jones for another season.
