Impossible For Carson Wentz To Return In 2022?
3 years agoIn the opinion of The Athletic's Bob Kravitz, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz will not be with the team in 2022. The Colts don't have many favorable options to replace Wentz, but the experiment with Wentz in 2021 was an abject failure. Head coach Frank Reich and general manager Chris Ballard both failed to commit to Wentz after the season ended. Owner Jim Irsay is clearly angry at the way the team collapsed under Wentz in the final two weeks of the regular season to miss out on a playoff spot. Kravitz also calls it virtually impossible that Wentz will return to the Colts. Wentz earned MVP consideration in his second season with the Eagles, but he was never really expected to light the fantasy world on fire in Indy's run-first offense. He ended up with 3,563 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 17 games in 2021. Wherever Wentz plays in 2022, he'll be more of a low-end QB2.
