3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints would save only $2 million against the 2022 salary cap by trading wide receiver Michael Thomas before June 1, and a lot of signs are showing that they don't have any intention of doing that. The Saints believe that Thomas is getting healthy after missing all of the 2021 campaign due to injury. He is due $15.35 million in base salary, which is guaranteed for 2022 and has $450,000 in bonuses. Thomas' base salary can be taken to the league minimum and divided by three, bringing his new salary cap hit to $15.16 million. The 28-year-old's fantasy value will obviously be much lower in 2022 and Thomas no longer has quarterback Drew Brees to throw to him. But if the two-time All-Pro is playing in New Orleans next season, he could be a valuable fantasy asset at a lower cost in drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
