Texans Still Want Hefty Return For Deshaun Watson
3 years agoHouston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson sat out the entire 2021 season due to multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. His legal issues continue to go unresolved, but they could be dealt with this offseason, and the Texans would prefer to have closure on this issue before the start of free agency on March 16 because Watson's $35 million salary remains on their books for 2022. The Texans have already admitted they don't want Watson on their roster anymore. Despite multiple legal issues and little leverage, the Texans haven't lowered their asking price for Watson. It remains five to seven assets, including three first-round picks. Honestly, it's tough to imagine any organization willing to mortgage their future for Watson. It's possible that price drops after the legal situation is over, but the Texans are unlikely going to get what they desire for Watson.
