Nick Foles A Cut Candidate
3 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles is a cut candidate this offseason. Foles will carry more than $7 million in dead money in 2022 if he's released, but the Bears will save $3 million and can turn the page on an expensive third-stringer. Defensive lineman Eddie Goldman is another cut candidate for the Bears, and his release would provide over $6 million in savings. The 33-year-old played in just one game for the Bears in 2021, going 24-for-35 for 250 yards and a touchdown in a win over the New York Giants. In his two seasons with Chicago, Foles has completed 65.1% of his passes for 2,102 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 10 games (eight starts). At best, Foles will be a backup for another organization in 2022.
