3 years agoDetroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Zack Hess (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery in late January and will miss the entire 2022 season. Hess was a seventh-round pick in the 2019 draft and pitched for High-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie last year, going 2-5 with a 3.42 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 69 strikeouts and 35 walks in 52 2/3 innings over 45 relief appearances. He also allowed 10 earned runs in 10 innings over 10 outings in the Arizona Fall League in 2021. The 24-year-old wasn't in the team's top 30 prospects at MLB Pipeline at the end of last season and doesn't need to be on anyone's radar in dynasty/keeper leagues, especially since his development has been pushed back a year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
