Harold Landry Could Receive The Franchise Tag
3 years agoTennessee Titans impending free-agent outside linebacker Harold Landry is coming off a career-high 12-sack season in 2021, and he'll be in high demand if he reaches free agency. A long-term deal for Landry may be more difficult after the massive deal that pass-rusher Bud Dupree got last year, combined with the fact that the Titans are strapped for cash against the salary cap this offseason. Landry has indicated that he'd like to remain in Tennessee, so the franchise tag might be the way to go as a placeholder to buy the team more time to work on a long-term extension. The 25-year-old finished last year with a career-high 75 tackles (51 solo) as well, adding 14 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits and a forced fumble in 17 regular season games in his first Pro Bowl season.
