Franchise Tag A Possibility For Orlando Brown
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs traded a first-round pick, among other selections, for impending free-agent left tackle Orlando Brown, and the Chiefs are highly unlikely to allow him to be a one-season rental as part of an overhauled offensive line to protect quarterback Patrick Mahomes. As such, Brown is expected to return as the team's starting left tackle in 2022. If the Chiefs use the franchise tag on him, it will be as a placeholder to give them more time to work on a long-term contract extension. The 25-year-old was acquired from the Baltimore Ravens last offseason in a package that included the 31st overall pick in last year's draft.
