Panthers Unlikely To Trade For Kirk Cousins?
3 years agoOn the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said he doesn't think there's any truth to the rumors that the Carolina Panthers are trying to trade for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. The Panthers are likely to call and gauge interest on most QBs this offseason, but Cousins remains under contract in Minnesota, and he has a massive $45 million salary cap hit in 2022. Plus, new head coach Kevin O'Connell and the rest of his staff view Cousins as a player that they can build around moving forward. The better bet is that the Vikings keep Cousins and try to work out an extension, since he's entering the final year of his current deal in 2022. The 33-year-old made his third Pro Bowl and finished as a top-10 fantasy QB last year, and his new coaching staff might make him more efficient.
