They will still run a 3-4 base scheme with several different sub-packages. "There will be a lot of carryover from what these guys did last year, but at the end of the day … you've got to start with the evaluation of your players," Evero said Tuesday at his introductory press conference. Evero was clear about Denver's need to create pressure. In 2021, the Broncos recorded 36 sacks, which ranked 18th in the NFL. Despite the lack of pressure, the Broncos defense was their strength in 2021 and allowed just 18.9 points per game, third-fewest in the league.
