Washington Has Interest In Extending Terry McLaurin
3 years agoWashington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said no deal for contract-year wide receiver Terry McLaurin is imminent, but he expects conversations with McLaurin's representatives to begin at next week's scouting combine. The 26-year-old had his second 1,000-yard receiving season in 2021, but his fantasy managers were expecting a bit more after he had 1,118 receiving yards in his sophomore season and seven touchdowns in his rookie campaign in 2019. The early season injury to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and fellow wideout Curtis Samuel's disappointing year didn't help McLaurin's cause for a huge season. If Washington can lure a veteran QB into town as an upgrade over Taylor Heinicke, McLaurin's ceiling will rise once again.
