3 years agoAccording to the Washington Post's Jesse Dougherty, the Washington Nationals have reportedly signed right-handed pitcher Reed Garrett to a minor league deal. The reliever was selected by the Detroit Tigers from the Texas Rangers in the 2018 Rule 5 draft and made 13 relief appearances for Detroit in 2019. He was later returned to the Rangers in May of that year. The 29-year-old allowed 14 earned runs and 13 walks in those 13 appearances, spanning 15.1 innings while striking out 10 batters. He'll provide the Nationals with some additional bullpen depth after late-inning options Will Harris, Tanner Rainey, Patrick Murphy, and Gabe Klobosits.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
