Eric Bieniemy Returns To Chiefs On One-Year Deal
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs signed offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to a one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Bieniemy considered a move to college football and also sitting out a season after once again being bypassed in this head-coaching cycle. The well-respected offensive mind has been with the Chiefs since 2013 and has been the team's offensive coordinator for the last four seasons. Kansas City's offense has ranked no worse than sixth in the NFL each season under Bieniemy and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 52-year-old Bieniemy interviewed for a head-coaching job with the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints before returning to the Chiefs. His presence for another year is great news for Mahomes and the rest of the offense.
