Matt Nagy Returns To The Chiefs
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs hired former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach on Friday. The move was expected once the Chiefs brought back offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on a one-year deal on Thursday. Nagy was in the same role for the Chiefs from 2013-15 and was also their offensive coordinator from 2016-17. Nagy will now work with quarterback Patrick Mahomes after he was instrumental in former quarterback Alex Smith's best season in 2017. Running back Kareem Hunt led the league in rushing with 1,327 yards in his rookie season in 2017 under Nagy. With Bieniemy returning and Nagy back in town, it's nothing but good news for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense in 2022.
