Browns, Jarvis Landry To Discuss Contract Restructure
3 years agoCleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry will meet with wide receiver Jarvis Landry's agent at the NFL combine this week to discuss restructuring his contract. The five-time Pro Bowl pass-catcher battled injuries in 2021, but he has a chance to return to the Browns in 2022. Landry is heading into the final year of his deal and will turn 30 in November. He has a salary cap hit of $16.379 million but no guaranteed money -- his base salary is $14.3 million. If Cleveland releases him, they'd save $14.879 million on the cap and be left with only $1.5 million of dead money. Landry had career-lows in catches (52), yards (570) and touchdowns (two) while missing five games in 2021, but the Browns would like to have him back. Landry can still be useful in PPR fantasy leagues, but his ceiling is pretty low at this point in his career, especially if he remains with the Browns.
