3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is ahead of schedule in his rehab from surgery to fix the labrum in his left shoulder on Jan. 19, according to a source. Doctors are encouraged by his excellent progress, and Mayfield's natural throwing motion won't be impacted too much, since it's his non-throwing shoulder. The plan remains for Mayfield to be the team's starter in 2022, and the Browns are expected to upgrade his receiving weapons via free agency and the draft. Quarterbacks coach Drew Petzing will focus on getting Mayfield back on track after an injury plagued 2021. Mayfield will need to play much better on his fifth-year option ($18.86 million) this year if he wants to be approached for a long-term contract extension.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
