Jameis Winston Not A Good Fit For Buccaneers?
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians isn't opposed to the idea of reuniting with New Orleans Saints impending free-agent quarterback Jameis Winston, but Arians also doesn't necessarily think signing with Tampa is Winston's best option on the open market. Even though Arians doesn't see many veteran starters becoming available via trade this offseason, it doesn't sound like the Bucs are very interested in reuniting with Winston, who played for the team from 2015-19. In his one season with Arians in 2019, Winston led the league with 5,109 passing yards and threw for 33 touchdowns, but he also led the NFL with 30 interceptions. The 28-year-old tore his ACL last November and is on track to be ready for the 2022 season, but as of right now, it's looking likely that he'll return to New Orleans.
