Cardinals Think Kyler Murray Will Play Without A Contract
3 years agoArizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim thinks that quarterback Kyler Murray will play for the team in 2022, even if he doesn't receive a new long-term contract extension. Murray and the Cardinals have been involved in some offseason drama after the team made it clear they'd like to see more leadership and maturity from their signal-caller after an embarrassing wild-card playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Murray and his agent, Erik Burkhardt, sent a detailed contract proposal to the team earlier this week. The No. overall pick in 2019 wants to remain in the desert, and the Cardinals continue to say that he's part of their long-term plan under center. Despite battles with an ankle injury in 2021 and the disappointing finish, Murray is the only QB in NFL history to throw 70 touchdown passes and rush for 20 scores in his first three seasons.
