3 years agoMajor League Baseball lead negotiator Dan Halem and Bruce Meyer of the Players Association will meet on Thursday. Both sides want to hammer out a new collective bargaining agreement, but there's still a large bridge to gap on several key economic issues. The meeting on Thursday will be an informal one-on-one meeting, so baseball fans shouldn't be expecting a formal proposal from either side. Commissioner Rob Manfred on Tuesday announced that the league has canceled the first two regular season series after 10 days of negotiation failed to bring about a new CBA for the sport. It's good that the two sides remain in touch, but baseball is in serious trouble.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
