Cowboys Likely To Release Amari Cooper
3 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys are "likely" to release wide receiver Amari Cooper by the start of the new league year, according to league sources. Cooper is due $20 million in fully guaranteed money on the fifth day of the new league year on March 20. The Cowboys could also trade him before then if the right offer comes along. The 27-year-old had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020 before going for 865 yards and eight touchdowns on 68 receptions in 15 regular season games last year. His release would free up $16 million while triggering only $6 million in dead salary cap money. If the Cowboys officially release Cooper, CeeDee Lamb's fantasy value will shoot through the roof as Dallas' No. 1 wideout.
