Kirk Cousins Not Expected To Give A Hometown Discount
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins isn't expected to give the team a hometown discount if they look to sign him to a contract extension. Cousins has been better than arguably any NFL player at maximizing his value, and that's not expected to change this offseason. There's word that Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr wants $40 million per season on an extension, and Cousins would want to be in that ballpark. Cousins is due $45 million in 2022 in the final year of his current deal after throwing for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season. The 33-year-old signal-caller is likely to remain in Minnesota on another massive deal if the Vikings are truly persistent about avoiding a rebuild. And with new head coach Kevin O'Connell in town, Cousins could be even better in the fantasy realm.
