3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints, who seemed poised to re-sign Jameis Winston, could instead look into trading for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The knowledgeable NFL reporter heard this rumor circulating at the recent Scouting Combine and believes that Garoppolo could be a top name on the trade market if Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson aren't traded. Of course, the 49ers would need to be on board with this idea. While they do have No. 3 pick Trey Lance waiting in the wings, Garoppolo had a strong 2021 campaign and helped lead San Francisco to the NFC Championship. This past season, the eight-year veteran appeared in 15 games, completing 301 of 441 passes for 3,810 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. His exact value for 2022 is completely dependent on where he's playing, but the former second-round pick certainly has some mid-to-low QB2 intrigue heading into fantasy drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
