Panthers Hope To Re-Sign Zane Gonzalez
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are hoping to re-sign kicker Zane Gonzalez this offseason. Gonzalez made 20 of his 22 field-goal attempts (long of 57 yards) and missed just one extra point before suffering a quadriceps injury before Week 17. "I thought he really kicked well for us," general manager Scott Fitterer said. "He just wants to see what's out there, and then we'll hopefully get him done. If not, we have options." The Panthers replaced Gonzalez with Lirim Hajrullahu for the final two regular season games, but the plan is to go back to Gonzalez in 2022. The 26-year-old booter has made 8.5% of his 113 field-goal attempts in five seasons with the Panthers, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals.
