Rays Made An Offer To Freddie Freeman
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays made an offer to superstar free-agent first baseman Freddie Freeman before the lockout in December, according to sources. The New York Yankees remain very interested, and the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers could be good fits. The Atlanta Braves remain in the mix to bring Freeman back, but it remains a big surprise that they didn't lock him up before the lockout. It will be extremely interesting to see where the 32-year-old left-handed slugger lands once a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. Freeman, a five-time All-Star, hit .300/.393/.503 with 31 home runs, 83 RBI and eight stolen bases in 159 regular season games in 2021 for the Braves before helping to lead them to the World Series title.
