Jake Rogers Resumes Throwing
3 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (elbow) posted a video on Twitter of himself throwing after undergoing Tommy John surgery last September. Despite the progress, Rogers is likely to be out for most, if not all, of the 2022 season, even with the delay due to the ongoing lockout. If the 26-year-old does make it back later this year, he's unlikely to see much playing time behind the dish behind Tucker Barnhart and Eric Haase. Rogers hit .239 (27-for-113) with six home runs and 17 RBI in 127 plate appearances over 38 games for the Tigers last year before undergoing Tommy John surgery. In parts of two big-league seasons, he has a .182/.264/.378 slash line with 10 homers and 25 RBI in 255 plate appearances.
