Seahawks Release Bobby Wagner
3 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks informed eight-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner that they are releasing him on Tuesday, according to a source. Wagner arrived in Seattle on the same day as quarterback Russell Wilson in 2012, and they both leave the team on the same day in 2022. Wagner was the team's second-round pick in the 2012 draft out of Utah State. By releasing him, the Seahawks avoid the $20.35 million salary cap hit this year, and they'll only have a dead-cap charge of $3.75 million. The 31-year-old will be highly coveted by fantasy managers in IDP leagues and other NFL teams, though, as he's recorded at least 133 total tackles in each of the last six seasons. Wagner had a whopping 170 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one pick in 16 games in 2021.
