Browns To Tender D'Ernest Johnson
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns plan to tender a contract to restricted free-agent running back D'Ernest Johnson at the right-of-first-refusal level, according to a source. If another team doesn't steal him away, Johnson will be set to make $2.43 million in 2022. The 26-year-old took advantage of his opportunities when he had them last year, finishing with a career-high 534 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 100 carries in 17 games (two starts). Johnson had over 100 scrimmage yards in three games in 2021, and he could attract real interest in free agency. If he returns, he'll continue to provide valuable running back depth behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
