A.J. Brown (WR, TEN) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 25% of Leagues

ANALYSISEven in a “bad” game considering what he had been up to lately, A.J. Brown still led all Titans wide receivers in receptions (three) and yards (45) this past Sunday in another win for Tennessee over the Colts. Ryan Tannehill has flipped this team luck in completely unexpected ways and Brown has been the major beneficiary other than RB Derrick Henry. Looking at the schedule things should only keep being good for him going ROS.

Brown posted a massive 135-yard, four-reception, touchdown game in Week 12 against the Jaguars in what turned out to be his second-best game of the year. That outing (23.5 fantasy points) fell short by a hair to what he did in Week 4 against Atlanta when he finished with a great 24.4 FP. Although Brown is far from a weekly 20- or even 15-point player in fantasy, he’s shown enough as to consider him a 10-point player on average.

In his two games after the Titans bye week in Week 11 he has caught seven passes for 180 yards combined and a score, and he has kept his 4.5 targets per game average on the season up. Corey Davis has been really disappointing this season and his performance is getting worse by the day. That means Brown is probably the no. 1 option on the Titans receiving corps and the rookie seems to be up for it.

As I mentioned earlier, Tennessee has a soft fantasy-playoffs schedule during the next three weeks. They play Oakland, Houston, and New Orleans, and they rank 20th, 21st, and 22nd against WRs this season in fantasy points per game allowed to the position. That along with Brown’s talent make him a must-add in most leagues and a more than viable start at the flex slot of your lineup. Even if you have a better streamer ready for next weekend, if you have room to keep in him in your roster, I’d advise doing it and having him ready as a go-to weapon for weeks 15 and 16 if you are still alive and fighting for the chip.
