Aaron Loup (RP, TOR) - Waiver Wire Analysis

Update (5/3 - after today's game): Loup came in the 7th inning of today's game, and had a disastrous outing giving up 3 ER. Certainly a different tune than what the Blue Jays had said coming into today. The bullpen situation is ugly here, most likely yielding towards a committee going forward until Janssen is back, with Steve Delabar and Brett Cecil as potential candidates for saves. Stay tuned for further updates.

BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues (that count saves)

ANALYSIS:  Aaron Loup has been named the new Toronto closer, making him one of those saves sleepers to be grabbed off the waiver wire in any league that values closers. Sergio Santos blew another save last night, his third of the year, and the Blue Jays have seen enough. Loup will get a chance to nail down some saves until Casey Janssen is ready to return from the DL, and has a decent chance to succeed. Over 13 1/3 innings this year, Loup has a 3.37 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 9 K. He does also have 8 BB, so it'll be interesting to see if that comes back to hurt him. For now, he's an immediate waiver wire pickup in leagues that count saves.
