Aaron Sanchez is expected to return to the Toronto Blue Jays starting rotation next season after dealing with a shoulder injury this season.
Sanchez, 23, was moved to the Toronto bullpen after he returned from the shoulder injury. The expectation is that he will be one of the five starters in the rotation to start 2016.
It will be a nice move for the Jays because the youngster has a lot of talent. The right-hander had a 1.09 ERA when he joined the team in 2014. He came out of the bullpen before starting 11 games this past season. In 11 starts and four appearances out of the bullpen, Sanchez had a 3.22 ERA.
In the postseason, Sanchez didn’t allow a run in nine appearances. Sanchez was absolutely dominant and showed that he could pitch at a high level. Since David Price, Mark Buehrle and Marco Estrada all entering free agency, there will be a spot for Sanchez.
