BALLER MOVE: Add in AL-Only Leagues / Deep Mixed Leagues for Power Boost
ANALYSIS: Adam Dunn may be sacrificing the Hall of Fame by retiring at season's end, less than 40 home runs shy of 500, but is being given a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in his 14-year career. Even though his batting average hasn't cleared .220 since 2010, he can still hit homers, and moving to the Oakland Athletics has given him enough of a boost to make an appearance on our waiver wire sleepers list.
In 363 at-bats to date in 2014, Dunn has hit 20 long balls. He still hits fly balls 42.6% of the time, 20% of which have cleared the fence. I'm assuming the A's didn't trade for the 34-year-old slugger for him to just sit on the bench, so he should be getting close to everyday at-bats at DH in Oakland. Owners in AL-Only leagues and deep mixed leagues where you can fit him at a DH/Utility slot can rely on Dunn to knock a few more balls out of the park over the final month of the season. Grab him if you need a power boost, and he is sitting on your waiver wire.
