Adam Jones left Thursday’s game against the Kansas City Royals, according to The Baltimore Sun.
The star Baltimore Orioles outfielder ran into the center field fence while trying to catch a ball off the bat of Ben Zobrist in the first inning. Jones stayed in the game until he was replaced in the third inning. Paul Janish came in to pinch-hit for the centerfielder and got a hit.

Jones, 30, drew a walk in his lone at-bat on Thursday. It could be bad news looming for Baltimore if it loses its five-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glover. The Orioles have already been struggling of late as it is, losing seven of their last 10 games. Even though they trail only two games for the second Wild Card spot in the AL, they have to jump three other teams to take hold of the spot. Without Jones, it will be real tough to get into October baseball.
Jones has a .280 BA and .814 OPS with 24 HR and 66 RBI this season. That’s going to be a hard bat to replace in the middle of the lineup. He also is possibly the best centerfielder in the game.
