BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Lind is a righty killer. He's slashing .367/.439/.587 vs. them in 109 AB. He barely plays vs. LHP (2 hits in 17 AB), but it was the same thing last year (.309/.385/.539 vs. RHP, compared to .208/.240/.333 vs. LHP). You get the idea: Lind is gold in deep leagues where you can set your lineup every day and bench him vs. lefties. In weekly leagues, he should be owned as a matchup play for any weeks he has more than 5 RHP matchups. Now you might look at the 3 HR he has in 2014 and raise your eyebrow, but Lind also has 13 doubles this year (again, in just 109 AB) vs. RHP. He is walking at almost a 1:1 rate vs RHP, and he is actually putting the ball in the air at a higher rate than he did last year, which means the homers are coming soon. He's also in the heart of a potent Toronto lineup batting behind Bautista and Encarnacion. Net net bottom line, hold onto Lind, or pick him up if you play in a deep league. While the average will certainly come down, it's only a matter of time before he starts seeing more balls leave the yard and feasting on RHP.
