Albert Wilson (WR, MIA) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 28% of Leagues

ANALYSISI don’t know about you, but I surely was very high on Albert Wilson entering the season. Sadly, injuries kept him out for most of the first third of the season and even after getting back he didn’t do a lot in his little opportunities. That has changed lately, though, with Wilson having his best game this past weekend against Cincinnati. The receiver caught all of the seven passes thrown his way for 79 yards and even added nine yards on the ground through a single carry. He couldn’t cross the goal line, but he still finished the day with his best fantasy tally of the year at 15.8 points.

Wilson’s rest of the season hasn’t been incredible, but it hasn’t been too bad considering his low usage. Leaving Week 1 out (he left after playing just six snaps), Wilson had a rough time in weeks 6 through 10 but then started to feature more heavily in Miami’s offense. He has been targeted at least five times in all but one of his last six games, topping at eight targets against the Giants two weeks ago. In the span from Week 11 to Week 16 he’s caught 27 passes of his 35 targets for a total of 234 yards on six games. He hasn’t scored a single touchdown in that time, but he’s still been able to average 9.1 FP and bested the 10-point mark in three of those six games (he also had 9.7 FP in Week 12).

While Miami will face the stout Patriots Defense in Week 17, New England is already guaranteed a playoff bye and could rest some players in its season finale. No matter what, though, Wilson is finally seeing as many targets as the Dolphin’s go-to players and if he keeps up those 7-8 targets in his last game he will have the 10-to-15 range of fantasy points at his reach once more. All of that without accounting for potential scoring plays that will add upside to his fantasy value. All in all, Wilson is a good receiver to consider playing at a flex spot in 14+ team leagues and even as a WR2 or WR3 in deeper leagues considering Miami keeps going for the win late in the season.
