BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Royals Alex Gordon is having a revival in 2018. He hit .333 with two home runs last week, earning a mention for deeper leagues. The 34-year-old is a part time player at this point is his career, but he is producing far better than his disastrous 2017. Over 78 plate appearances, Gordon has a line of .288/.333/.411 and is striking out just 16.7% of the time. He is not hitting for much power despite his two homer week, but Gordon is the very definition of a professional hitter.
Shallow leaguers need not apply here, but the long time Royal could be a better injury replacement option than more widely owned players like Jackie Bradley Jr., Carlos Gomez, or Jose Bautista. The Royals will play the woeful the Orioles to begin the week, putting Gordon in a spot to thrive in spot starts, before playing the Indians to close the week. While the Indians are not a strong team to face, they are only 17-17 this season and Gordon may do enough in the Baltimore series to pay off the weekly addition.
