Alexander Mattison (RB, MIN) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: While Chase Claypool and Travis Fulgham are undoubtley going to be the two darlings of the Week 6 WW pickups--they finished as overall no. 1 and no. 2 in PPR leaderboards this past weekend--let's not forget about the most valuable under-the-radar guy out there: Alexander Mattison.

Dalvin Cook is going nowhere in Minnesota's offense, unless he gets injured, that is. And that happened on Sunday when a groin injury sidelined him in the third quarter, opening the door to RB2 Mattison. And as always, Mattison went to work. Alex logged the second-highest snaps of the season with 43 (topped at 19 prior to W5), and he carried the ball 20 times for 112 yards and a 5.6 Y/C average. He was also good on the passing game catching 3-of-3 targets and getting 24 receiving yards on the day.

Mattison was already a prime handcuff last season, and he's in that position once more for 2020. He's already a good option in deep leagues as a FLEX play, even with his RB2 role. With Cook probably out next weekend (Minny goes on a bye in Week 7, which would give Cook three weeks of resting time), Mattison is a must-add-and-play no matter the league you are part of.

Alex already has a couple of 7.7 and 12.0 PPR points in two games this season (the other two went for a low 2.6 and 2.7, though), and he's rushed the ball 6+ times in all games but one. He's also been great at catching the ball, with 8 receptions on 9 targets this season for 57 yards. Let me repeat it, just in case: Must. Add. Mattison.
