BALLER MOVE: Stash in Deeper Leagues (12-14+ Teams)
Owned in 9% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: As we already know, and have already seen this year, owning a valuable running back handcuff can be a great way to get an edge over your opponents. Teams that have built a system of running the ball with success can usually endure an injury to their starting running back, and still be successful with the 2nd or even 3rd in line. The Houston Texans are one of those teams, and Arian Foster has been one of the most successful fantasy football running backs so far this year. He is very talented, but they also have an offense designed for RB success, and he's been getting a huge volume of touches.
Foster has had injury issues in the past, and is listed as questionable this week, which is why I am featuring his handcuff here. Foster will probably play and carry the load again, but it's a reminder that he can get injured at any time, and is prone to getting beat up. Based on last week's usage, it seems that Alfred Blue has surpassed Jonathan Grimes as the #2 running back in Houston, making him the most recent edition to our waiver wire sleepers list. If Foster were to miss any time, Blue would immediately be on the FLEX/RB2 radar with possible upside for more. If you have room at the end of your roster, grab Blue off the waiver wire and stash him on your team just in case.
