ANALYSIS: It has been far from a banner year for Amir Garrett, but there have been enough struggles and injuries throughout the Cincinnati bullpen for him to be the main high-leverage go-to arm while Lucas Sims and Tejay Antone are on the IL. In his last ten appearances (6.1 IP), Garrett has gone scoreless, bringing his ERA down from 9.53 to 7.71, and he also collected two holds and three saves in that span dating back to June 9th.

This month, the 6'5 former college basketball player has lowered his walk rate from 16.7% in May to 5.4% with a 35.1% strikeout rate, and while he has had issues with hard contact on batted balls this season, he is producing a much more manageable rate of 36.4% in June on 14.3% line drives and 47.6% grounders. With the Reds officially playing winning baseball and an opportunity available for the time being, Amir Garrett is an electric addition for high-leverage innings.
