ANALYSIS: The Arizona Cardinals' shifty third-year back is coming off of his finest game of the season in Sunday night's win over the Seattle Seahawks. Ellington piled up 88 yards from scrimmage on just eight touches (five carries, three receptions), including a game-sealing 48-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.
Arizona has sprinkled the versatile Ellington throughout its offense since his Week 5 return from a knee injury, mainly using him as a change-of-pace or on obvious passing downs. What's notable is how incredible efficient Ellington has been with his limited touches -- he's averaging more than 10 yards per touch from scrimmage since Week 5.
Veteran Chris Johnson is still the main ball-carrier, as evidenced by his 25 carries against Seattle. In one of the strangest developments of the fantasy football season, Johnson ranks second in the NFL in rushing and third in carries, so he's emerged as a workhorse for the Cardinals. But Ellington is too talented to be completely phased out, and Arizona seems to realize this. His lack of volume caps his overall value, but if you can still pick up Ellington as a potential bye-week start at RB or flex, you'd be wise to do so.
