ANALYSIS: Over the last two weeks Andre Holmes has risen to the top of the Oakland Raiders scrapheap of wide receivers. During that time Holmes has received 20 targets, 9 catches, 195 yards, and 3 TDs from Derek Carr. These results coincide with his opportunity to start, given the injuries experienced on the Raiders WR corps, and he's taken the opportunity and ran with it. He now reappears on our waiver wire sleepers list heading into Week 7.
While these results are very appealing, there are also some questions around whether Holmes will continue producing at a high level (on pace for his best season of his career). On the season, the Raiders are ranked 23rd in passing attempts (186) which shows the opportunities for Holmes may be limited from week-to-week. However, in Week 7 the Raiders will be facing the worst receiving defense in the league when they play the Arizona Cardinals. This makes Holmes a nice streamer pickup for those of you looking for a wide receiver to play for an injured player or a bye week fill-in. If you are looking for a more consistent long term solution I'd continue monitoring Holmes and see if he can show continues production over the next couple of weeks, or add him off the Week 7 waiver wire and stash him on your bench. It should be fun to see whether this talented wide receiver can have a true breakthrough in 2014 and remain a consistent fantasy force moving forward.
